Here we go again! The Friday Is Forever Tour made a stop in New York City and MusicSkins Girls Sabby got the chance to go! Let me tell you, it was a GRAND OL’ time. This concert potentially makes it to the top of the Summer Concert list.

First up was Action Item. I’m familiar with the band, but I’m not so familiar with their songs. I only knew their opening song, “Somewhere Out There” and a bit of their last song, “When Everything Falls Back Down”. Five talented guys. One Band. Awesome music. Be sure to check them out!

Next up was Hot Chelle Rae. I have heard of the band previously, but… I never took the time to look up their music. Let me just say, it was a bad decision. Their set took me away. I am a new HCR fan. If you haven’t already, look up their music.

The Downtown Fiction. What can I say, I love this band. I love my TDF boys. This concert marked my tenth time seeing the boys, and they are amazing every time. This time around, they played song off their new album, including “Stoned” and “Alibi”. My favorite of the night from the guys was “Freak.”

Oh snap it’s the Summer Set. Again, another one of my all time favorite bands. Let me tell you, it was a DANCE PARTY throughout their whole entire set. The band opened up with “Young” and ended their set with “When We Were Young.” Funny, right? Anyways, What got the whole crowd moving was their two songs - their classic “Chelsea” and their newest song, “Must Be The Music”. An amazing set, and by far the best performance after seeing them four times previously.

The moment of glory - We The Kings. I’ve met We The Kings as a band once, and then met Travis Clark a second time, and I saw them at Bamboozle. But nothing beats going to go see them in an actual concert venue and watching them play a set longer than five songs. SO this night definitely holds a special place in my heart.
The band came on stage and opened up with “She Takes Me High” and boom. Dance party commenced. I don’t know about you, but there’s an awesome feeling that comes with finally being able to sing back your favorite band’s lyrics while they perform.
We The Kings played a couple of their new songs like “Every Single Dollar” and “Sleep With Me”. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to sing my heart out to these songs, since I have yet to pick up their new album, Sunshine State of Mind. I know, I know, shame on me for not doing so. Cut some slack for the extremely broke college student… Haha.
Travis did a listener’s choice and via his twitter account prior to the show, he asked his fans what song would they want to see performed. The song that received an amazing response, according to Travis, was “All Again For You”. The band also played “We’ll Be a Dream” and “Friday Is Forever.” The feeling you get from live music is just indescribable. As for the finale, band closed off the night with their hit single “Check Yes Juliet”.

It was a night of infectious rhythms and ultimate grooves. If the tour came to your city, and you were able to attend, I hope you had an AMAZING time!
Until the next show! -S
